| Festival Description | The festival first began in 1971 as an impromptu jam session. Local, regional and national top jazz bands set the roster as well as members of the Bix Jazz Society Youth Band — carriers of the torch for the next generation. The annual events are organized by the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society which also promotes jazz music education and the preservation of the traditional art form. |
