| Festival Description | As Artistic Director, Richard Tognetti has arranged Festival Maribor—celebrated its inaugural edition in September 2008. The program features unique ensembles including concerts with morning matinees; mostly classical music recitals; afternoon concerts—some featuring unusual instruments and evening concerts. Festival Maribor brings together the jewels of classical music, with interactive projects and Roma musical heritage with some of the finest musicians from the Eastern European Gypsy diaspora. In addition, accompanying exhibitions, social and other events will be a part of the festival program. About 200 national and international artists from 20 different countries—Slovenia, Australia, Austria, Croatia, Sweden, China, Finland, Great Britain, Argentina, Egypt, Norway, Bulgaria, Hungary, Canada, Italy, Rumania, France, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate. |
