| Festival Description | Unique in the United States, the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival has been hailed as one of the most significant festivals of its type in America. It has been deemed a major factor in making the Bay Area one of the dance capitals of the country. With three weekends of performances, featuring a different roster each weekend, the Festival has been instrumental in introducing large audiences to many of the world’s most distinctive cultural traditions throughout the last quarter century. World Arts West takes a leading role as a presenter of world dance producing festivals, performance series, educational programs, and commissions that honor and sustain traditional dance genres and the dancers who keep them alive. Access, education and advocacy are offered to world dance artists and cultural communities. |
