Festival Description

The King Biscuit Blues Festival began in 1986 as a tribute to the blues roots of Helena, Arkansas and to the man at those roots—Sonny Boy Williamson. From 2002 to 2010 due to contractual obligations the festival had to change its name to Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival. In 2011 the festival returned to its rightful title of: King Biscuit Blues Festival.

“King Biscuit” music festival was based on Williamson’s participation on radio show King Biscuit Time. The festival organizers continue with their mission of dedicating the program to Blues whose participants have included: Pinetop Perkins, James Cotton, Robert Lockwood, Jr., Billy Branch, Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets featuring Sam Myers, Charlie Mussellwhite, Frank Frost, Sam Carr, and many more…
