| Festival Description | This festival takes place at venues throughout Sydney and offers a week of concert performances by everything from school choirs to visiting community orchestras. The event allows outstanding non-professional musicians to perform in Sydney's venues, including the Opera House. Almost every musical group that enters the festival has the opportunity to play for 20 minutes in either the world famous Opera House or Sydney's imposing Victorian town hall. The larger bands and some of the choirs are offered performance time outdoors: either at the popular social spot of Darling Harbour, home to many of Sydney's best wine bars and clubs, or at the city's National Maritime Museum. The 17th Festival will take place in 2006. |
