Festival Description

The International Theatre Festival for Children is an educational and cultural event within a competitive festival that unites national and international children’s theater companies. The programme of this festival initiated by Mr. Cornel Todea, director and manager of Ion Creanga Theatre, includes foreign and Romanian productions in two sections: performances recommended for children aged 1 – 4, and 4 – 12; and includes workshops and cultural debates. The Festival has a competitive feature; an international jury will decide the winners of the following prize categories: Best Performance, Super Bebe Award (granted for the best performance for the age group 1 – 4 years), Best Acting Award, and Best Director Award.

Artist information 2012:
  • The 8th edition of the Festival organized by Ion Creanga Theatre will take place in Bucharest between September 29 - October 6, 2012.
  • The Festival has a competitive feature and addresses theatres which have in their repertory performances for children, rendered by actors (we do not accept puppet theatre performances).
  • The program of this festival initiated by Mr. Cornel Todea, director and manager of Ion Creanga Theatre, includes foreign and Romanian productions in two sections: performances recommended for children aged 1–4 and for 4– 12, workshops and cultural debates.
  • The Festival has a competitive feature; an international jury will decide the winners of the following prizes categories:
    • Best Performance
    • Super Bebe Award (granted for the best performance for the age group 1 – 4 years)
    • Best Acting Award
    • Best Director Award
  • Deadline — The Festival welcomes applications from professional theatre companies until June 15, 2012
  • Conditions — The Festival insures per diem, a fee that will be negotiated and covers the accommodation costs. The festival will provide local transport from and to the airport.
