| Festival Description | Meeting Points 5 (MP5) is a contemporary arts festival that includes performances in dance, theatre, music, videos, films, and installations. This year 2007—(MP5) is curated by Frie Leysen assisted by Maha Maamoun who present a selection of artworks coming out of the Arab region and beyond. This fifth edition of the festival will take place in Amman, Damascus, Beirut, Ramallah, Cairo, Alexandria, El Minia, Tunis and Rabat as well as Brussels and Berlin. In Beirut, participating artists are: Khalil Rabah - (Ramallah); Bouchra Ouizguen (Marrakech); Amir Reza Koohestani (Shiraz); Muzaq/Selma and Sofiane Ouissi (Tunis); Sherif El Azma (Cairo); Wael Shawky (Alexandria); Bikya (Cairo); Sandra Madi (Amman); Nejib Belkadi (Tunis); Ali Essafi (Casablanca); Mohamed El-Roumi (Damascus); Meyar El Roumi - (Damascus); Grupa de Rua de Niteroi/Bruno Beltraõ (Rio de Janeiro); Hiroaki Umeda (Tokyo); TG Stan (Antwerp); and Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker (Brussels). |
