| Festival Description | The Huntington Estate Music Festival features an international and national line-up of stellar classical music artists. Each year’s program is presented at the first concert—remaining tightly under wraps until then. The 2007 festival included a long-time Huntington Estate favourite, baritone Teddy Tahu-Rhodes, the Goldner String Quartet from Sydney, the Australian String Quartet from Adelaide and the Flinders String Quartet from Melbourne. In addition, Festival includes the UK based violinist Alina Ibragimova; Melbourne pianists Benjamin Martin and Kristian Chong joined by the young American, Elizabeth Schumann; Peter Sculthorpe’s String Quartet No 17 and Carl Vine’s String Quartet No 5. With the musicians of the New Sydney Wind Quintet, karak percussion and double bass player, Kees Boersma, the year’s Festival once again featured a wide range of artists, instruments and musical styles. The Festival, presented in association with Musica Viva, is hosted by Tim Stevens, owner/winemaker of Huntington Estate. |
