| Festival Description | The Berlin Philharmonic have performed at the Salzburg Easter Festival, founded by Herbert von Karajan, since 1967. An opera production in the Grosses Festspielhaus is the main focus of the Festival held in the week before Easter. The Festival programme also includes orchestral concerts performed by the Berlin Philharmonic, and appearances by guest orchestras. Kontrapunkte is a series of chamber music concerts, with programmes thematically linked to the opera, performed by chamber music ensembles of the Berlin Philharmonic. It takes place in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum in Salzburg. |
