| Festival Description | This festival presents high quality, non-stop traditional music concerts and sessions in the city with a programme that encompasses informal concerts, pub music sessions, children’s events, workshops and film, with an emphasis on quality and intimacy. Artists in residence demonstrate and pass on their skills and the living traditions that they represent throughout the festival. Belfast will serve up tasty sounds from a range of musical genres. Icons of Irish traditional music will appear alongside the cream of Kentucky Bluegrass and Old-Time music from the Appalachian mountains. The sounds of Nashville and alt-country will rub shoulders with red hot Cajun music from the Deep South. Folk music of Scotland and Northern England will compliment perfectly the music of Brittany, Quebec and Asturies. |
