| Festival Description | The Bath Fringe under the present cooperative committee, founded the festival in 1981 — making it 30 years since the first Bath Fringe, and since the 1970s since the first of the ‘Other Festivals’ which gave Bath the taste (and a monster reputation) for Alternative Arts Festivals. And, recession and funding collapse or not, Bath Fringe will be celebrating this fact, as well as celebrating dozens of artforms and hundreds of artists, in over 170 events over 17 days in the first flush of summer. |
| Festival Dates | May 24 - June 9, 2013 |

Festival Story:
The alternative festival for The City of Bath — Over the years the Fringe has investigated and developed artforms events and audiences that have in many cases become mainstream, others of which have been taken on and commercialised by other promoters and festivals. ‘Affordable Art’, Spoken Word, Digital Arts and Media, Standup Comedy, Cabaret, Physical Theatre, Circus Arts, Folk and World Music, Latin Dance, Jazz, and the serious presentation of major figures from Pop, Rock and Black Music have all been Fringe centrepieces, some of which have been maintained and others developed elsewhere.
