| Festival Description | The Big Chill festival is an annual event founded by Pete Lawrence and Katrina Larkin who started The Big Chill Sunday Social all-dayers at the Union Chapel Islington in 1994. However, the first outdoor Big Chill festival took place at The Black Mountains, Wales in 1995. Pete is the music programmer, and a DJ and radio presenter with a weekly show on Chill Radio (DAB). The Festival features Live music and DJs. A mixed bag of seasoned ambient favourites to contemporary flavours, chilled to upfront beats, world music to homegrown drum’n’bass, all dance including electronica, jazz, funk, soul, techno and house, as well as orchestras and big bands, dub, reggae, folk, ceilidh and lots more besides. The Bill Chill will be taking steps to be the greenest yet in its history. Their initiative of ‘Leave No Trace’ seeks to reduce carbon emmisons, print their programs on sustainable resources and environmentally friendly ink. Local food produce will be delivered to the site for the use of stall holders who are encouraged to buy their ingredients… and much more. |
