The Glastonbury Festival encourages and stimulates youth culture from around the world in all its forms, including pop music, dance music, jazz, folk music, fringe theatre, drama, mime, circus, cinema, poetry and all the creative forms of art and design, including painting, sculpture and textile art. As well as being one of the most spectacular events on earth, Glastonbury Festival retains its ethos as a positive force for change both locally and internationally. The major causes supported by Glastonbury Festival are Oxfam, Greenpeace and Wateraid.

  • Inko Dancers (London)
    • Inko Dancers are a new unconventional London dance company that is looking to alter people’s perception of the scene by merging contemporary and commercial dance forms. The company is made up of several talented performers who are all prolific in a number of styles, allowing them to fuse together the various elements into creating exciting and original routines that are set to indie/rock music. Founded by Kerry Powell, Michelle Queen, and Rachel Kay, the Inko Dancers have already participated in several high profile performances as well as teaching regular classes at Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden. They also cater for school/college workshops, parties, and corporate events. Previous Clients include: MTV, Kerrang, Pineapple, E4, Download Festival, numerous music videos and represented the UK at The Bloomy Rain Festival in Lithuania. Company members are currently working with Cirque De Solieil, Take That ‘Circus’ Tour, Mcfly and Thriller Live - The Musical.

FINAL WINNERS: THE GREENER FESTIVAL AWARD 2009:
  • The organisers of the Award, campaign and advice group AGreenerFestival.com said that they were particularly pleased with the number of outstanding festivals in 2009 with twelve festivals being awarded very high marks. The Award is based on a 56 part questionnaire which covers office management, greenhouse gas emissions, supporting green initiatives, travel and transport, waste and recycling, water management, environmental protection and noise reduction and almost all the festivals will receive a visit from an independent auditor to assess their green efforts. http://agreenerFestival.com
    • All winning Festivals will receive a special trophy designed by competition winner Sade Goddard from Keswick School in Cumbria whose winning design features a Red Kite motif and is made from recycled plastic bottles, crushed CDs and remoulded Wellington boots.
    • The winner of the overall Greener Festival Award 2009 will be announced at the UK Festival Awards which will be held at the O2 Arena in London on November 19th 2009. The following winners are…
