Folkworks fiddle weekend, presents major concerts, intimate late night shows, great workshops, plus wonderful sessions and dances. Fiddles on Fire celebrates the talents of stunning fiddle players, each with their own distinctive style. These leading fiddlers perform and teach in concert halls and impressive workshop spaces. A huge range of techniques, styles and subjects are covered for all levels—including absolute beginners, intermediate, advanced, and those new to folk, and children are offered. In addition, there are opportunities for improvisation, harmonising, duet-playing, learning by year, and mass fiddle playing by hundreds of participants. Styles covered include Scottish, Shetland, Irish, English, Northumbrian, Welsh, Cajun, Klezmer, Old Time, Bluegrass, Balkan, Scandanavian, and more. No wonder fiddles are on fire!
