| Festival Description | Founded 1972, the Festival de la Cité Lausanne runs over 6 days in the beautiful historical part of the city. The wide program consists of classical as well as modern music, theatre, contemporary dance, street art, visual and plastic arts, comedy, literature. The artistic focus is given on original and special productions, unusual happenings, many of the performances being short and striking. The Festival de la Cité Lausanne is open-air and free. The 14 stages are within walking distance of each another and invite the audience of around 100,000 to discover fresh talents and new artistic expressions. |
