| Festival Description | The 2009 Shotgun Theatre Festival offers audience members a rare look at theatre from start to finish, from behind the scenes to the finished product of what it takes to produce a play. The idea of the festival is to compress time for a spontaneous theater experience. The theatrical process takes audiences from auditions, to casting, to the staging of 28 original short works. In addition, the festival provides a platform for playwrights, actors, and directors within this creative atmosphere. The festival program features a series of spontaneous artistic collaborations and two nights of music, dance, comedy and off-the-hook theater forged in spontaneous cooperation between 40 actors, 14 directors and 14 playwrights working on very little sleep over 48 breakneck hours. |
