| Festival Description | The Port Fairy Folk Festival has over 140 acts and over 500 artists presenting folk, country, bluegrass, blues, jazz, rock, new roots and world music. The event presents major international and national artists. In addition, a Children’s Folk Circus and Free Festival of the Streets. It began in 1977 and has received Victorian and Australian Tourism Awards. The festival is a vibrant and exciting cultural celebration which magically transforms the fishing village evoking tradition but looking to the future. First class performances are held on large stages in the Arena and at venues throughout the town plus market stalls, buskers and street events. Each year the busker champion from the Mortlake Busker’s Festival is given the opportunity to perform at the Port Fairy Folk Festival.
