Festival Description	The Cape Town Jazzathon is the most successful free festival to date. Local musicians and emerging artists are given a platform to express their talents—especially those from previously disadvantaged sectors of the community. African artists are given the opportunity to interact with national and international artists. Through interaction reconciliation, non-radicalism and a common nationhood is promoted through music. The Jazzathon contributes to the growth of arts and cultural tourism in South Africa and draws an estimated 700,000 vistors to the area.
