Festival Story:
The FNB Dance Umbrella is both a national and international celebration of contemporary choreography and dance, which annually captures the attention of dancers, choreographers and audiences across South Africa. Community-based dance troupes and international companies have been presented by the festival. This unique platform offers a selection of innovative new dance works, reflecting the many cultures and traditions of a multi-cultured country. Over the years, the FNB Dance Umbrella has grown in stature to become the foremost festival of contemporary choreography, growing in maturity on the one hand, as well as showing increasingly innovative works that explore the creativity of our dancers and choreographers on the other.
