| Festival Description | The folk festival features international dance and music groups each year in Prague. The festival is open to amateur folklore ensembles of all types — singing groups, dancing groups (with live or recorded music), historic groups — without age or size limit. The participating ensembles present open air performances in the city centre of Prague, take part in a parade through the city centre of Prague, participants attend the Festival party and an official meeting of group leaders with the representatives of the City of Prague. In addition, the participants enjoy a half-day of a sightseeing tour of the city, a river boat cruise, marionette opera or a performance of a black light theatre. Ensembles will have the opportunity to present the folklore of their region and country to an international audience of thousands, make new friends and network with other folk artists. The host city of Prague has captured the hearts of all those who visit the “Golden City” in the heart of Europe with all its sights and magic. |
