| Festival Description | After six successful years as one of the best small music festivals in the country, the Fressingfield Music Festival returns once again to host another five nights of world class music. Stars of the classical and jazz world will perform from 27 September – 1 October at the parish church St. Peter and St. Paul, Fressingfield, north Suffolk. As always, locals and those from further afield will descend on this intimate venue to see world class musicians including the globally acclaimed string ensemble, The Chilingirian Quartet (27 September); rising star, pianist Timothy End (28 September); and back by popular demand, Elaine Delmar with the Brian Dee Trio (30 September). Programming 2011:
- Tuesday, September 27
- The Chilingirian Quartet
The quartet is acknowledged as one of the world’s top string quartets, and will be performing quartets by Mozart, Beethoven and Ravel. The “Chilis” as they are affectionately known, formed over 35 years ago, have played worldwide, broadcast regularly and have an extensive recording catalogue.

- Timothy End
Timothy End is one of the UK’s up-and-coming piano virtuosos who studied at Cambridge and the Guildhall. Mr. End will be joining the festival to perform pieces by Bach, Chopin, Debussy and Beethoven. He has been described as “someone to watch”.

- Vox Cantare
The country’s newest, stunning vocal ensemble will be singing pieces by composers Purcell, Elgar and Vaughan Williams. Vox Cantare are known for their fresh voice and precise pitching and chording.

- Elaine Delmar
So many people asked for a return concert by Elaine Delmar and the Brian Dee Trio this year that it was impossible to disappoint them. Considered to be the finest jazz singer in Britain today, Elaine, along with Brian’s piano, bass and drums, will no doubt provide another evening of rich, relaxed jazz classics.

- The Commonwealth Soloists Octet
Known for their exuberant performances, The Commonwealth Soloists Octet has been well received by its audiences. This evening they present a brilliant programme of music for violin, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, bassoon, contra-bassoon, double bass and, piano. Performing pieces by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Dvorak; the Octet will finish this year’s festival on a very high note.

Notes for 2011 programming:
- All concerts will commence at 7.30pm. Tickets can be booked in advance for £10 or purchased for £15 on the door, subject to availability. Tickets for Tuesday’s concert (27 September) cost £15 in advance or £17 at the door. Available by phone +44 01379 586459 and from mid-August at Fressingfield Stores.
