This festival began over 40 years ago as part of Ljubljana Festival and later moved to the Congress Centre. It presents the most eminent European, African, American jazz musicians. Many open-air or interdisciplinary events accompany the festival, including music street performances, film, music events at Slovene Cinematheque in co-operation with the Cinema-ear, exhibitions of film posters or jazz photography and open air concerts of the jazz ensemble of the Ljubljana Secondary Music and Ballet School. The concerts are staged not only in Ljubljana, but also at Kibla and at the Satchmo Club in Maribor.
