| Festival Description | Lumen festival has been one of the biggest gospel music festivals in Central Europe since 1993. It takes place in June (previously in April) in Trnava, Slovakia. A dozen of selected bands from Slovakia and all over the world perform for over 3,500 young people. A number of seminars, holy masses, sport competitions and dance theatre are included in the program. The main goal in organizing the event is to encourage participants to explore faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore all bands and speakers are encouraged to bring their testimony and witness Jesus in their lives. Lumen festival is endorsed by maestro Peter Dvorsky, a renowned opera singer, who also attends some annuals of the Lumen festivals. Entrance is free for all. There were 10,000 attendees in 2008 and 2009. Organizers are excepting more than 12 000 people to come on Festival Lumen 2010. |
