| Festival Description | Subotica International Festival of Children’s Theatres was founded in 1994 by Subotica Municipal Assembly with the aim of presenting the most valuable and artistically most relevant national and international stage productions for children and of contributing to promotion of new and affirmation of already existing cultural values on international ground. The 19th edition of the International Festival of Children’s Theatres is going to be held 20-26 May 2012 in Subotica, Serbia, encompassing also touring performances throughout Vojvodina and the rest of Serbia and the Festival reprise in Szeged, in neighbouring Hungary. During seven days, Festival will host artists, theatre experts and students of theatre academies from various parts of the world, including Europe and host country Serbia. The focus of the Festival will be on Polish Puppetry which is going to be presented through an exhibition of puppets, costumes, set design sketches and posters by Polish artists in Subotica, Novi Sad and Belgrade, scientific gathering on the given subject, participation of puppetry students from Białystok and Wrocław in the Festival opening ceremony and through participation of Polish theatres in the main (competitive) program of the Festival.
