XII International Theatre Kingfestival will take place in Velikiy Novgorod, Russia - April 25-29, 2013. It is a biennale festival and it became major international event in cultural sphere. Organizer of the festival is Novgorod Theatre for Children and Youth “Mali”, member of ASSITEJ and IETM and Theatre Union of Russia. In 2013 a great range of contemporary theatrical productions based on mythology, national epic and legends will be present again as a center of the festival program. The program consists of performances for children and adults in the genres of drama, contemporary dance and puppetry. The festival will present the best productions from Russia, Hungary, Switzerland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Japan, South Korea, Belgium, Denmark on the theatrical venues all over the city.

An international discussion laboratory “Young critics is a future of theatre” is a special project of the festival that unites young theater experts from various universities and colleges of Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Finland. It is a great opportunity for youth to discuss theatrical performances and innovative theatrical forms of Russian and foreign directors and to open discussion about new forms ad methods. From 2007 the festival - is a space, where young critics and theater experts from different countries could participate in discussions of creative program.

Beside the main program, the festival will present special events as a “Swiss Posters” - exhibition of Swiss theatre playbills from different theatres for children and youth, workshops and meetings with festival programmers of different countries.
