| Festival Description | The Riddu Riddu Festival was started by the sami associations in Kåfjord in 1991, as a sea-sami culture festival that features a program of Sami and world indigenous cultural events in the North of Norway. The festival has become one of the largest Sami festivals and a primary annual festival for international indigenous peoples. The festival program encompasses music, performing arts, courses, seminars, movies, children’s festival and a youth camp. The festival has permanent support from the sami parliament, Troms county and Kåfjord municipality. |
