| Festival Description | Nattjazz is the longest-running jazz festival in the northern part of Europe, organised annually to coincide with the Bergen International Festival. Its wide musical profile ranges from traditional jazz to world music, though the main focus is on the transition between modern jazz, rock and folk music. Traditional jazz forms such as Bebop, Hard Bop, Jazz Rock, Fusion and Funk are represented and some space is also left for European improvisation jazz. Presenting all the different traditions of jazz music in this way, the festival becomes a melting pot of creativity. Most of the events are staged at the USF Art Centre, an old converted sardine factory, but the festival area is right in the middle of the city of Bergen. |
