| Festival Description |
The biennial Adam Chamber Music Festival is an internationally renowned festival whose guest musicians join with the virtuosic New Zealand String Quartet to present music from Bach and Mozart to Dvorak and Brahms as well as contemporary New Zealand composers. This festival has the informality of a summer holiday—the musicians share their knowledge prior to playing; lunchtime and evening concerts are held in the acoustically perfect Nelson School of Music, by candlelight at Nelson’s Cathedral and with food and wine at both the Seifried and Montana Estates. Founded in 1992 by musicians with an eye for mixing work and pleasure, the festival retains its core values of being “Kiwi”, casual, collaborative and varied. |
