| Festival Description | Since 1973 the family-friendly Auckland Folk Festival has celebrated its annual festival of music, song and dance. Each year at the end of January during Auckland Anniversary Weekend the gathering of musicians and folk music aficionados gather at Kumeu Showground. The Showgrounds offer an ideal festival site, featuring a large flat camping area, with convenient parking, hot showers and the amenities of both flush and portable toilets. On-site catering is provided and if you are looking for more — off-site, shops and restaurants are within walking distance for your enjoyment. The festival is organised by the Devonport Folk Music Club, Titirangi Folk Music Club, Auckland Bluegrass & Traditional Old Time Country Music Club, Tir Na Nog, and City of Auckland Morris Dancers. |
