| Festival Description | Fairbanks Folk Fest takes place two times a year with winter and summer editions in February and June. Each edition is a free community festival. The “Winter Folk Fiesta” celebrates its 8th edition this year on February 8th. The second day of the festival is titled “Annual Fairbanks Winter Folk Fest”, which celebrates its 20th edition on February 9th. The Fiesta acts as the kick-off event with music starting at 8:00pm with local musicians. The next day the Winter Folk Festival begins at 2:00pm featuring 30 performances on 2 stages. The program is a mix of folk, jazz, blues, and more. There is the Jamboree and Open Mic Stage as well. The Summer Festival offers an entire day of entertainment in a comfortable, family setting that is also FREE of admission charge! Sponsored by Acoustic Adventures, FNSB Parks & Recreation, KUAC, Multi-media Makers, Forget Me Not Expresso, UAF Student Activities, with help from the festival volunteers, members, and performers. |
