| Festival Description | The International Plucked Instruments Festival is a festival of classical music performed on the lute and guitar, as represented by musicians from around the world, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Morocco, Portugal and Switzerland. 2008 celebrates the 13th annual festival, organized by the Sous l’Egide du Ministère de la Culture with the collaboration of Spanish Embassy, Romanian Embassy, the Délégation Wallonie-Bruxelles, l’Institut Cervantes, l’Institut Français, l’Institut Culturel Roumain, Goethe Institut de Rabat Casablancah Institute, Italian Cultural Institute and Portuguese Cultural Center. The founding directer is Saïd Laghzaoui, with the assistance of Mekki Jirari. |

- Oscar Herrero, Flamenco Guitarist is heir to the great tradition of the ” flamenco puro” belonging to the large contingent of Andalusian guitarists of this musical style. Oscar Herrero’s impressive musical stle and quality takes public on a the voyage in the magic of flamenco.
- Azeddine Montassére, Arab lute-player and leader is one of the most popular musicians of Morocco. Professor, Montassére teaches the lute in Morocco and abroad. His musical curiosity enabled him to explore a wide variety of music of the world. As a concert performer, Montassére performs regularly in Morocco and in the Arab countries.
