Alizés Spring Festival of Essaouira Moroccan Music (Festival du Printemps Musical des Alizés)

Established by André Azoulay, the president of the Alizés Foundation, the Alizés Festival’s primary intent has been to accommodate the growing numbers of classical, chamber and symphonic music fans. Providing concerts free of charge and in the “magical” town of Essaouira, the Festival has attracted not only music fans from throughout Morocco, but a foreign public as well. Spanning four days in early May, the festival includes piano sonatas and concertos, arias and other vocal pieces, as well as round table discussions with composers and artists.
