International Mariachi Expo and Rodeo (Charrería)

Mariachi performers from around the world gather in Guadalajara, in the Mexican state of Jalisco, whereMariachi music all began. Other events include a large charrería, or rodeo, replete with parades presenting native cowgirls and cowboys, as well as galas, open-air concerts, mariachi music workshops, and the crowning of the Ambassador of the Mariachi and Rodeo, similar to a carnival queen. Mariachis are invited to register online and play at the festival.
