Friendly, free, do-it-yourself folk festival with sessions, blackboard concerts, poetry, musicianship and spoken word competitions. At the Frances Folk Gathering the performers write the program. You just turn up and write yourself into the blackboard concerts, competitions and sessions that run continuously all weekend—musicians, singers, poets and storytellers are all welcome. Frances Folk Gathering incorporates the Coopers Folk Awards for musicianship and spoken word with $4000 in prize money.
