The annual Festival of the Music began in 1982 is a gathering of a multiple of musical expressions—tens of thousands of musicians, amateurs and professionals, as well as a million spectators. The Festival is a great popular demonstration, devoted to music in all forms and kinds—traditional to rock’n’roll to techno. The demonstrations are very diverse from one country to another, by their design and their width. In 1999, the Festival of the Music was present in 107 countries throughout the world. It represents also the first event emblematic of Europe. This one day demonstration took the form of a Festival open to all musicians—amateurs and professionals alike who offer diversity of kinds and styles, and the interbreedings of music. Free, it is open to the public of all ages and all social conditions. Year by year, the Festival of the Music confirms and extends its international presence on the five continents.
