During the Fall the Seoul Drum Festival becomes an open festival where the citizens of Seoul and tourists from home and abroad can enjoy themselves and get together under the beat of the drums. Events involve opening and closing ceremonies, performances by foreign performance teams, world percussion instrument performances, lectures and seminars, etc. Seoul Drum Festival has made the enthusiastic festive occasions along with the world through the genre of ‘Percussion (Drum)’. Since 1999 the festival has positioned itself as the world festival representing Seoul, and tries to provide the citizens with the opportunity to experience directly the percussion culture art of the world and also to raise the standing of Seoul as the cultural city.
