| Festival Description | Surry Hills Festival brings a splash of colour and community to the parks and green spaces around Crown Street, Surry Hills. The festival showcases the thriving creative community of the area. The festival will be creative, intimate and have a community picnic feel with entertainment stages showcasing a mosaic of talent from emerging artists and bands, with satellite events occurring across the suburb. The Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre will also feature some great activities for the young and young at heart and introduce the community to the fabulous new centre. Families looking for school holiday entertainment can plan for a great day out – with fantastic kid’s entertainers on our Rainbow stage and free kids activities and workshops. You’ll need an entire day to browse the amazing array of festival stalls, whether you’re hunting for vintage fashion, ethical products, funky pet wear, and local art - or savouring a taste of the globe with delicious delicacies from around the international food stalls. In addition, the streets and alleys of Surry Hills offer an intriguing opportunity to explore the art galleries, fashion design houses and other creative precincts. The Surry Hills Festival is produced by the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre as a major fundraiser for the Centre’s community services and is made possible through the generous partnership of local artists, bands, community organizations, business and residents. Entry to the various festival sites will be by gold coin donation, so please give generously to the festival gold coin collectors at the park and venue entrances. |
