| Festival Description | The annual festival celebrated its inaugural edition in 2001. The competitive festival involves amateur musical societies performing in Waterford’s fine Theatre Royal. Shows range from operettas to modern musicals and a very high standard is achieved, with the fringe events complementing the core programming. The festival was previously titled Waterford International Festival of Light Opera. As of 2012 the festival has expanded to also include High School Festival, and Gospel Festival and Fringe Festival. |
