Nagykanizsa has been organising its Spring programme series since 1993. The festival gives local art ensembles the opportunity to introduce themselves. At the same time, respected theatres, nationally known ensembles, and even foreign artists have performed in the city, including, among others, the Gyôr Ballet, the National Theatre, the Hungarian State Opera, the Georgian Dance Ensemble, the Tomkins Song Ensemble, and the Auer String Quartet. The festival has been enriched each year by an increasing number of folk music and jazz bands, such as Muzsikás, the Méta Ensemble, the Zagreb Big Band, Namyslowsky and Scieransky.
