As in the previous years, there is a central topic appearing in the programmes in a variety of forms: the relationship between music and stage. The key to it is Bartók's work The Wooden Prince. This relationship has been a source of inspiration for composers throughout the history of music and has become particularly important and topical these days. Without a claim for completeness, the event demonstrates the possibilities of how stage and music can interact today. The Festival is supported by the Hungarofest, a non-profit national association for the organization of cultural events, and the Circle of Friends of Bartók Festival.
