This is the capital’s oldest music festival. The autumn festival concert series traditionally starts on September 25, the eve of the anniversary of the death of Béla Bartók, and continues until the end of October. The Philharmonic Society presents its best events, the regular performing season begins, and guest performances by top-ranking foreign orchestras and soloists further enrich the cultural offerings. In the last decades countless musicians and orchestras of international stature have been to the capital as guests of Music Weeks in Budapest.
