Founded in 1985, the Sopron Early Music Days remains the only major music festival in Hungary specializing exclusively in early music, (repertoire written between 1600 and 1830). An important part of the festival is constituted by master courses in contemporary instruments, choral practice and dance; courses and seminars about interpretation in fortepiano, recorder, flute, etc. There are also courses of choral singing and dance. The festival is held by CEFEMA "Central European Festivals of Early Music Association."
