| Festival Description | Started in 1994, the Hermoupolis Guitar Festival takes place in the capital of Syros, the "Princess of the Cycladic islands." The Festival is organized by the Municipality of Hermoupolis, the Italian Cultural Institute of Athens, the French Institute of Athens and the Fullerton University in California. It has a unique personality that is friendly, relaxed and non-competitive. Participants are there to spend a week interacting with other musicians, making music. The festival is open to all ages and levels ofability - to performers, teachers, students, and everyone who loves the guitar. Its aim is to present, through ensemble playing, tuition and workshops, the widest possible musical disciplines. |
