Built at the old open quarry area of Petroupolis, Petra open-air theatre is the venue for all the events of the International Petra Festival that take place every summer. The International Petra Festival competes even with the Athens Festival at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. With guests performers as popular as Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop to Greek singer Marinella, and performances organized by the greatest Greek theatres and also by amateur groups, including dance.
