Festival Description

Member of the European Festivals Association since 2000. One of the first music festivals of modern Europe, created by Franz Liszt in 1845. The programming focuses the denominators oeuvre, putting music of very different historical periods together with contemporary creation into a special context with this rich oeuvre. The modern era of the Bonn Beethoven Festival, founded by pianist Elly Ney, began in 1931, with three very popular “Beethoven days” Since that festival, the Beethoven Festival is celebrated annually.
