Chris Elam is the Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer of Misnomer Dance Theater. The company creates contemporary dances about human relationships that are informed by cross-cultural perspectives. In the Fall of 2008 Misnomer received grants to develop a technology platform that will help arts organizations engage audiences and create interactive relationships.
In this podcast Chris talks about what has inspired his choreography, why it has been difficult for dance companies to leverage technology, and offers glimpses into a new frontier in dance.
This interview is part of an ongoing series with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
